How To Style: Statement Tees – Girl Power

Nothing feels more empowering than wearing a statement tee to, well…make a statement about something you feel passionate about! Last week I was on my way to uni and passed a small boutique that I hadn’t noticed before and on the very first clothing rack was an outfit that caught my attention. It was a printed tee with the words ‘Girl Power’ under cute gingham overalls and as soon as I spotted it, I knew I had to have it because of the many ways to style statement/graphic tees. I have been obsessing over statement tees because they make a statement (literally) to your entire look and it is so easy to dress up and down and I love versatility in my clothes. Because the weather is still pretty chilly if you’re not under the sun in Sydney so far, I paired it with simple black jeans and espadrilles because I wanted the top to do all the talking. But I’m very excited to style it in the warmer months with a skirt, overalls or …

How To: Style A Leather Jacket (Minimalistic)

The ultimate essential for ANYONE no matter what season/climate or where you are in the world is a black leather jacket. I recently was at Zara the other day and spotted the perfect black glossy leather jacket that was perfectly fit (not cropped or oversized) with minimalistic silver detailings on the sleeves, pockets and collar. I’ve been on the lookout for the longest time for a good quality leather jacket that was the perfect fit and didn’t have too much going on. It was pure destiny that they only had one left in my size  and for a jacket under $250, it was everything I’ve envisioned in purchasing a leather jacket. For today’s look I was super casual and minimalistic with a black and white outfit, where the highlight of my outfit was on my lips wearing a bright red Nars lipstick. You’ll be seeing a lot more versatile looks on how I style my leather jacket in the future xx   I’ve also linked 5 very similar leather jackets UNDER $100! Check them out …

Models Hadid Sisters Street Style

Bella and Gigi Hadid have been killing it this year with their street style, staying ahead and up to date with the hottest fashion and beauty trends. Both being professional runway models and constantly being surrounded by other IT girl models and creative designers can also explain why their style is always ‘on point’. Although they are twins, their style couldn’t be anymore different. Gigi Hadid’s style is more of a refined and minimalistic look whereas Bella Hadid is edgy and modern with an eclectic twist. One thing I’ve noticed from both sisters however is their love for denim, and whether it’s a double denim on denim or a sequinned top with distressed navy jeans, if it’s anyone who can pull off a quirky look, it’s the Hadid’s. I’ve stalked their Instagram (as I do on a daily basis) and screenshotted my favourite looks from the sisters. And even better, I’ve even linked similar looks so you don’t have to stress about where to find their outfit pieces. All the hard work, anxiety and panic …

Affordable Fashion Straight From The Runway 18

Being a fashion journalist student is kinda like holiday-ing at a beautiful resort but unable to understand/speak the language; challenging but rewarding. I’m able to read and write and gain behind the scenes exclusive knowledge of the latest trends and runway styles but being a university student, simply cannot afford most of the pieces. I understand the daily struggle of browsing through your favourite designers only to realise that the one thing that’s within your price range are a pair of heavily reduced socks. That being said, I have located my favourite FRESH OFF THE RUNWAY looks and trends duplicates that are super affordable and stylish. Check them out and let me know your thoughts. A week in outfits|StephStyles Uni

This month was extremely eventful with the Easter break, my boyfriend’s birthday celebrations and of course the masses of uni assessments piling on top. April was definitely a month to remember and as per usual, it flew by so quickly and it’s becoming a harsher reality that the middle of the year is fast approaching. Here is a snapshot of a week in outfits from April in no particular order. The days are becoming shorter and nights are windier and duller and with the seasonal changes, it means that you cannot prepare what to wear the day before. Nevertheless, here are a few of my outfits this month. Top: Cotton On Bottoms: Boutique. Weekend OOTD | Denim Dressing

Hi guys! Today’s outfit is a super comfy and stylish one that is currently perfect to host under Sydney’s fluctuating weather conditions. I bought this denim dress from Topshop and this halter necked design can either be a hit or miss. It’s tight on the upper body from your chest upwards but then flows into a structured bottom which can make you look a little shapeless. However, because it was short, the balance between the box-y waist and the height was just right, elongating your legs and giving it the ultimate effortless party look. I paired it with some silver necklaces from Sportsgirl and my favourite pointy cut out boots from Marco Gianni. Let me know if you have something similar to this or what you would love to read in my next post 🙂

College Bag Essentials | Whats In My Bag

With the last day of Summer coming to an end and as we are now approaching the THIRD month of the new year, it’s time to replace your sunglasses with prescription glasses and your playsuits with pens and pencils as we head back into the college/school period. Knowing what to bring, what to wear and where to go is a hassle and with the stress of a new environment and figuring out your timetable and classes, the worst thing for anyone on their first day would be to forget to bring something crucial. Going into my third (and final year) of uni, its fair to say that I have a sound knowledge of the essentials and survival kit of what to bring so I decided to share them with you. Backpack/large tote bag with comfortable straps: An average uni day is divided into two sections,  60% walking to your lectures and 40% of the time actually being in class so you need to make sure that you have a practical bag with comfortable straps. I …

Date Night | OOTD

There is nothing more stunning than a classic navy (that’s right navy, not black) long dress that clings to your body and flows effortlessly at the end. Every girl should have the staple navy dress in their wardrobe as this refined classic colour suits almost every occasion. And unlike the classic black dress, navy brings a warmth of colour and lightens up any event and in my opinion, suits almost every skin tone. I purchased my navy dress a year ago on an online boutique store for a uni formal and found that it was very versatile to pair with jewellery, heels and various make up looks to completely transform the whole look and essence of this dress. What will you wear your navy dress to? xx

Backstage at the 2017 Fall Fashion Show

The looks are bolder, the models are bigger and the collections are even crazier at this years 2017 Fashion Show.  After scrolling endlessly on WWD’s behind the scenes fashion & beauty features, I’ve instantly become inspired by the dazzling looks, whether they include intricately detailed nail designs from the Libertine Fall show to the simplistic bold brows at Narciso Rodriguez, this year there is something fitted for everyone. Here is my take on some of the trends that I’ve picked up: Rich Burgundy Lips: Although its no ground breaking revelation, dark lips have made it big this season and doesn’t look to be slowing down. Celebrity reality star Kendall Jenner was spotted with a rich burgundy lip at the La Perla show. Pearl-esque Eyes: This year, the general trend was bold face and lips and simple eyes, keeping the eye makeup simple, natural and dewy. Replace your eyeliners with a nude shadow or glossy shimmer or, in this case, with tiny pearls and gemstones applied to the inner corner of the eyes. This intricate look …
