Weekend Antics | Melbourne

Ranked as one of the world’s most liveable cities and labelled as the Australian ‘New York’, I had the chance to visit the reputable city of Melbourne for a short weekend trip with my boyfriend, who studies Medicine at the nearby university. I arrived in Melbourne on Friday morning and spent the day on campus with my boyfriend as he introduced me to his roommates followed by a brief tour on and off campus. One thing I noticed was how spaced out and open everything is. If you looked into the distance, there was nothing really that prevented your line of sight and you could see miles and miles ahead of you. The next day we woke up early to catch the express train to Melbourne CBD where we would be staying for the weekend. It was my first time visiting Melbourne’s CBD so we had lots to see and explore as we walked up and down the shopping strips around Bourke street, Little Collins and near the Emporium. The first thing I did notice was that it was …

From 2016’s show stopping glitter trends and dark bold brows, we welcome 2017 with 5 beauty looks that will be trending all year round. Let’s take a look at the styles that will surely leave their mark this year.   Under-liner Winged eyeliner was the classic go to all last year and celebrities, models, influencers and runways are switching it up by applying bright liner or glitter under the lower lash line. This look accentuates the eye shape and adds edginess to the overall look ad is definitely a showstopper.   Hazy Glow Dewy makeups are definitely trending in 2017 so be sure to incorporate tinted moisturisers, lip-gloss, cream eye shadows and blushes into your everyday look. Swap your powders for oil-based products that will give you that youthful sheen and leave your skin glowing all year around.   Shimmer strobe It’s time to take your makeup that’s out of this world with galaxy inspired glitter and shimmer. To achieve this, apply a strobing cream, highlighting powder or cream highlight on the high points of …

My Morning Routine (Summer Edition)

Morning routines have lately and quickly become the new trending video to watch…and rightfully so. I personally find them so addicting and fascinating to watch because it is what we experience every day and so seeing someone perform a task so common and watching them do things in their own special way is like peeking into someone else’s private lifestyle. For the days where I’m not working or going to uni early in the morning and have a bit more time on my hands, this is what my morning usually consists of…

Instagram Poems + Fake Friends

She had blue skin,  and so did he,  He kept it hid, and so did she,  They searched for blue, Their whole life through, Then passed right by- And never knew. This was a poem I read earlier today on Instagram (@emmamercury) and it stuck with me all day. It made me remember all those times when I would put on a ‘mask’ in front of people in a hopeless attempt to get them to like me more, thinking that they would be impressed or that I would become more popular, likeable and even beautiful. Now that I am 20, I’ve learnt a lot about myself and although I still have much much more to learn from, I feel that the me one, five and ten years ago was completely different than the person who I am today. So I’ve compiled a list of 7 things (to keep it short and sweet) of things that I have learnt over the brief period of years. Hope you enjoy xx You can’t get everyone to like you… and that’s …

Once in a while it is important, almost imperative to dress up wearing a new outfit that we know we shouldn’t have splurged on, style our hair differently and dab on that gorgeous shade of lipstick that you wouldn’t normally wear on a day to day basis. But you’re only young once, and in 10 years time your body won’t be looking as fit and fine as it is currently. The sun is shining and it will continue to shine bright everyday and it makes you realise that life is to short to wear bland colours and clothing. It’s time to step out of your comfort zone and go out as though you are as fabulous and fashionable as Blake Lively or Olivia Palermo. Here are some of my favourite glam outfits that I’ve been wearing currently: Dress: Missguided Shoes: Betts Top: Sportsgirl Top: Dotti Jeans: Kookai Top: Glassons Jeans: Topshop Heels: Betts Have a beautiful day and stay glam xx

Vivid Vision 2016

Like any Sydney-sider, a visit to Vivid is essential and taking the regular snapshots of the cathedral hallway of lights is even more imperative. My friends and I headed to Darling Harbour at 6pm, when the event just began where we were greeted with a cascade of water dancing to the jazzy rhythm of the music. There were light beams shooting from the water and trickled down the surrounding buildings of bright greens, pink and reds. After gazing at the light show, we soon became quite peckish so we headed to the usual; Arisun for Korean food which unfortunately I divulged before I even remembered to take a photo of it. The night life was brimming with people wrapped up in beanies and scarves, selfie sticks being whipped out as frequently as tissues and lots and lots of street shows! Our final stop after passing all the stores in Pitt Street was of course, the famed Cathedral of lights next to the Opera House and the Botanical Gardens. There was a huge line that started all the way …

Beauty Bits: 5 Products Every Girl (or guy) Needs In Their Make-Up Bag

Recently, I was browsing through the Sephora website when I was supposed to be working on my Global Cinema analysis essay and it wasn’t until I was well into the 7th/8th page of all the moisturiser products Sephora stocked that I realised the in numerous amount of beauty products released into the consumer realm! It got me thinking, with this influx of beauty products and tools that have been marketed through social media (Instagram in particular with those beautiful fitness models promoting the latest ‘god-send’ product), how on earth is one supposed to rummage through and find products that actually make a noticeable difference? So with that being said I have shared with you my top 5 holy grail beauty items that I STRONGLY believe every girl (or guy) must encounter and try. Papulex Isocorrexion Hydrating Cream I’m a strong advocate in believing that the secret of healthy, glowing clear skin begins with an excellent moisturiser. It doesn’t matter what skin type you have, moisturising your skin is imperative in retaining skin oil balance. I …

Don’t We Have It All?

I am currently listening to a remix of ‘Lost Frequencies‘ (click on the song name for 2 and a half minutes of ear-gasm) and became immersed in recollections and ideas that have been on my mind recently as well as a sudden spark of thoughts so I hastily opened my blog and here I am typing away. I hope my conglomerated flow of ideas aren’t too confusing to understand. Listening to this song struck a chord for me; I don’t know if it was the upbeat bass that always gets me pumped up, or the simple lyrics leaving room for interpretation. Either way, I was suddenly taken on a journey starting from my childhood and ending up to present day. I was on a magic carpet ride of notes and tunes lulling me from my memories of the past to present day me. ‘I can fly high, I can go low’ transported me to when I was 6 years old. Fingers sticky from lemonade icy poles and wearing brightly coloured scrunchies, I dreamt of what I …

Sleepy Summer Street Style

As February draws to a close, so to are the hazy days of Summer filled with fairy floss flavoured zooper-doopers, uneven tan lines and humid nights full of laughter and sticky bodies. If I were to describe my fashion sense it would be comfy, cute and cropped, and I’m actually surprised that Ive incorporated some colour in my wardrobe as come winter-time, the only colours in my field of vision are black and neutrals. Hopefully these photos of my outfits resonate also my character… as a dreamer, someone witty & spontaneous. This top was such a steal at under $10 from a closing down sale from Chicabooti. The cute unicorn badge with the caption ‘I don’t believe in humans’ adds a touch of girliness to the sporty top. Sticking to the sporty vibe I paired it with nikes and classic black pleather shorts. Super adorable and did i mention the level of comfiness? Who says you have to sacrifice beauty for pain…(well maybe in some cases of sky-high heels but this outfit is perfect for …
