Beginner’s Guide to Bronzing & Contouring (Blogger’s Fave Products)

Bronzing and highlighting is one of the most crucial steps in your makeup routine, as they add light and shadow to your face and allows your face to have that accentuated definition. However, with so many bronzing products (you cannot go wrong with Hoola Bronzer), it can be tricky to perfect and we’ve had those tragic moments where we look back and can’t decide if we were mauled by a wild bear or didn’t blended our contour correctly. Here is my take on how to ‘beat your face to the Gods’ ( a new term that beauty influencers have now been saying) and make sure you know exactly how and where to apply your bronzing, contouring and highlighting products. PRODUCTS: You want to start off by deciphering what kind of products to use. By determining your skin type (oily, combination and dry) you can then decide on what products would be the most applicable to you. For example for oily skin it’s best to choose powders for less shine and liquid and cream products will …

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot’s Fashion & Beauty Hacks

Hollywood’s current superstar and superhero Gal Gadot has everyone talking about her latest action packed film, Wonder Woman directed by the brilliant Patty Jenkins. This film is a serious must see not only to marvel at the stunningly beautiful Gal Gadot but also appreciate a film where the witty kick ass hero is actually a warrior princess/Amazonian goddess. Whilst we’re still in awe at how she managed to repel bullets and protect herself and the war torn cities, the biggest question in our minds is how after all that she still looks as glamorous as ever. Here are a few of my favourite beauty and fashion looks from Gal Gadot and how to achieve them: Face: In the film Diana’s face was as flawless as her character, a bronzed Amazonian goddess so to achieve this look it is imperative to start off with the perfect base and work from there. My favourite primer is Benefit’s Porefessonal primer. To achieve that naturally golden finish, apply a cream contour on the hollows of your cheekbones, the arch …

HOW TO: Get Clear Skin

Your face is the first thing that a person looks at, and is the first impression upon meeting someone. Acne, spots, blemishes and redness are inevitable and are completely normal factors of being human. And although pimples are irritating and smack bang in the middle of the face, it is so important to realise that firstly, nobody really notices a few spots here or there. In fact 99% of the population have experienced pimples or some sort of acne so either they know what it feels like and/or they don’t really care. Let’s face it, you probably have more important things to take into account other than the bunch of blackheads your co worker has. The first thing to know coming from someone who suffered from mild acne during my teenage years, is that patience is virtue. Those 2-3 years where my face resembled a pizza that has gone off felt like the longest years of my life, and 5 years later I can still vividly recall the pain, torment and embarrassment of what my …

Kylie Jenner Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Yup..I already know what you’re thinking. Here we go with another beauty blogger doing a Kardashian/Jenner inspired makeup tutorial with the overdrawn lips and completely reconstructed face. But before you say anything, here is my take on Kylie Jenner and why she is actually an inspiring figure in today’s global social media trodden society. To clear up the rumours that she has had chin reduction, cheek implants, bletharoplasty and her whole face done up, those are just rumours. The only surgery that she has taken is lip fillers, which can’t really be categorised as cosmetic surgery because it isn’t permanent. The rest of her transformation is mainly due to puberty (yes…that is a thing wow) and the power of makeup aka contouring and concealing.  I mean, take a look at your year book to when you were 14 or 15 and compare it to yourself today. My year 9 high school photos are a literal testament that yes people’s faces do change drastically. Kylie is only 19 so of course it’s plausible that you would …

7:25am thoughts

It’s a Friday morning and the sun is bursting through the cherry red curtains, prying its way eagerly with golden fingertips to reach the interiors of the house. Outside, the birds are chatting away as they soar overhead, ready to take on the day. It’s 7:25am and I am sitting here wide awake feeling somewhat inspired and motivated. Uni starts next month, my mum and brother return home from Shanghai China in 3 days and I just got a call from my manager at work asking if I could take the 10-6 shift. Life feels so normal, nothing significant is happening really yet at the same time, it feels so different. Every time i realise my age and that I’ve hit the big 20’s makes me jitter with nerves that I am already a fully fledged adult. yet, ironically I still feel like I’m 16 years old (minus the pimples, acne and devastating clothes style…i thought layering singlets were a cute summer choice…) Now as I type this, i look out my window to the …
