Fall Couture fashion week took over Paris with bedazzled sequins, intricate embellishments and plenty of glitz and sparkle. Couture fashion is probably my favourite collections to admire because they’re so big and bold with this year making no exception and failing to disappoint. Here are my favourite pieces from this years designs.
A designer who I just recently discovered and instantly fell in love with. His pieces are renowned for their Princess-esque theme, sprawled with crystals, delicate fabric and long flowing gowns. This season’s looks were inspired by The Gibson Girl, the personification of the ideal woman, embracing power, sex-appeal and beauty.
One of my favourite high end designers, Elie Saab’s theme this year couldn’t be more accurate than a medieval warrior princess. In fact, the Lebanese designer even called it ‘A tale of fallen kings’, with his pieces sprawled with embroidery, velvet, coats and capes.
Anything created/produced by Karl Lagerfield is bound to be a masterpiece, and this year’s theme being ‘theatrics’ was taken literally from the prints and designs all the way to the mossy runway. Regal mink coats were embellished with poppies and dresses overflowing with flower prints and the whole collection and show just seemed so vibrant and alive.
